The 2019 Kia Sorento just saw a refresh design. While auto enthusiasts are still talking about the 2019 model’s facelift, Kia automakers are already moving forward. Recent spy pics have revealed a prototype 2021 Kia Sorento on test roads. The 2021 release will mark the crossover SUV’s next-generation model.

What do the spy photos reveal? The vehicle was heavily camouflaged in the front and rear, suggesting those are the areas that will see the most changes. Some of the changes that can be seen include a lower front fascia, redesigned fog lights, and a clamshell-style hood.

The front also appears a bit taller and more upright. Another noteworthy change are the side mirrors, which are positioned on stalks. As for the headlights, they are sleeker and integrate into the grille, creating a wing-like appearance.

The 2021 Kia Sorento has been officially dubbed MQ4 by Kia automakers and is expected to make its debut in 2020. Some believe it will follow the release of the 2021 Kia Optima, which is also due for a facelift since the current-generation has been out since 2014. The Kia Sorento is currently in its third-generation, which was released in 2016.

There are also talks of new powertrains, which may include a plug-in hybrid variant. This will expand on the engine options, which for the 2019 model includes the 3.3-liter V6 engine and 2.4-liter inline-four engine.
