Many car owners treat the terms “service center” and “collision center” interchangeably. While service centers may offer collision remedies and vice versa, the two services are not identical.

Let’s start with a service center, which we at Sansone Kia are proud to offer to our customers. Service centers typically offer general maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, shock and strut inspections, and more. This may also extend to more extensive solutions to a limited degree, such as engine and transmission rebuild. If your car manual specifies a filter, oil, or transmission fluid change every X miles, a service center is where you would go.

To supplement our NJ Kia service center, we also supply a fully stocked parts department. From new tires and windshield wipers to batteries and brakes, we’re sure to have just what you need.

A collision center is pretty self-explanatory; it’s where you bring your vehicle after you’d been in an accident. A crew member will assess the damage and determine what work needs to be done to restore your vehicle back to its original state. Collision centers also specialize in touch-ups at the aesthetic level, such as paint restoration and dent repair.

In more severe collisions, an inspector will decide if the car is salvageable or if it’s a total loss. If the latter, your insurance provider will write you a check according to the car’s worth determined by Kelley Blue Book.

If you drive a Kia Optima or Kia Sorento and are looking for a reliable place for routine maintenance, visit our Kia service center near Staten Island, NY. Our NJ Kia dealers look forward to helping you soon with all your auto needs!
