The dog days of summer are here, and at Sansone Kia, we want to share some tips on how to keep your car canine safe! Come check out the recently redesigned 2019 Kia Sorento, it’s perfect for the whole pack!

As with humans, the first thing to consider when transporting your dog is a proper safety harnesses. The ideal option is a well-fitted seat belt attached firmly to the back seat of the vehicle. If this is not an option, placing their crate in the back seat with a blanket and toy for comfort is a viable alternative.

Let’s leave the term hot dog reserved for food and ensure our pups have a well-ventilated space to calmly enjoy the summer ride. Under no circumstance should you leave your dog inside the vehicle unattended during the summer months; this is putting the pet’s life directly at risk. According to some six-time winning Super Bowl champion quarterbacks, staying hydrated can prevent sun burn. While the science is still out on Father Tom’s claims, we do know on long summer journeys your dog will need their own water supply. Be sure to pack their own bowl and additional water for the parched pup to slurp down once the car is at a stop.

Vet visits are universally despised by all dogs, and our ruse to mask the destination is almost immediately blown by the canine’s clairvoyance. But if your pet is on the older side, it is best to take a quick trip to your vet and make sure the old dog is still healthy enough for travel.

Dogs force us to slow down our everyday lives, take a stroll, and relax from the fast-paced world. This is no different on a road trip; human’s best friend requires more stops than their chauffeurs. Be sure to pause every hour or two and allow your dog time to stretch their legs and use the restroom.

If you are out on the open road, answering the call to the wild this summer, stop by Sansone Kia for some cool water for you and your co-pilot!

These are the months many of us welcome the sun-kissed rose hue on our skin, but did you know it is also the most likely time to leave you fuming red with road rage? The increased summer getaway travel along with the skyrocketing mercury can cause tempers to quickly flare. Here at Sansone Kia, we want to give you some tips on how to make sure your new Kia Sportage is equipped with both climate control and self-control.

First step is to recognize your rising anger. Tune out your screaming kids or howling hound and turn down that thumping song of summer to be present. The most noticeable sign of road rage is often physical; muscle tension, one digit gestures, and strong tone or use of language are all good indicators of preliminary road rage.

Second step is to calm down. If you recognize some signs of increasing anger, take the time to pull over to the shoulder when safe, take a few long deep breaths, and collect your thoughts. Throw on some calming jams, pet your dog, or ask your children a silly question to get back into the right headspace. Once you feel your internal rage thermometer drop well below the outside temperature, safely return to the road.

Step three is to drive defensively moving forward. If you are faced with a malicious motorist, it’s best to let the beast pass and be far away from you. Be sure to keep an eye on the chafed chauffer and alert to any sudden and erratic decisions they may make so you may react safely and accordingly.

Step four is to resist retaliation. This can be the hardest step especially when an aggressive red sports car cuts you off or huge pickup tailgates inches behind you. Every mammalian instinct in your body is screaming to lay on the horn or slam on the brakes, but you need to cage the animal and politely defuse the situation. Retaliation will not help you and only aggravate the other driver—take the high road home

Summer is the ideal season to take your Kia on a long adventure far away from the familiarities of Avenel, NJ. But before you embark on this journey, there are a few steps you should take to ensure your car remains an oasis amongst the asphalt desert.

Many of us have discovered, through a bold thermometer warning on our smartphone, that summer scorchers take a toll on batteries. Cars do not receive the same gentle placement in the shade when their battery gets too hot, and it is best to test them before the full fury of the sun is felt. Most local auto stores will for free and let you know if you are in need of maintenance.

The air conditioning in your new Kia will be the greatest tool to battle the heat. Your vehicle will be working hard to transform the soupy hot air into a gentle cool breeze, and it is best to test the performance before venturing out into the sauna. If the vents are streaming out air that doesn’t feel like it is straight from the Rockies, it could be quickly fixed with some refrigerant. Most auto stores will carry refrigerant and can help you to determine if you can replenish the supply on your own.

Once your vehicle has properly cooled down, pop the hood to take a peek inside. You will want to be on the lookout for any loose or cracked hoses, ensure all caps are securely fastened, and most importantly, no debris is blocking the radiator and air filter.

A 24-hour span during a New Jersey summer can see swings of up to 40 degrees! This fluctuation can wreak havoc on your tires and impact your safety and fuel efficiency. Prior to departure, check the pressure of each tire to ensure it is within the . Falling outside of this range can cause uneven wear and drastically shorten their lifespan.

To see what else we can do for you here at Sansone Kia, contact our Kia service center as soon as today! We look forward to helping you beat the heat this summer.

The 2019 Kia Sorento just saw a refresh design. While auto enthusiasts are still talking about the 2019 model’s facelift, Kia automakers are already moving forward. Recent spy pics have revealed a prototype 2021 Kia Sorento on test roads. The 2021 release will mark the crossover SUV’s next-generation model.

What do the spy photos reveal? The vehicle was heavily camouflaged in the front and rear, suggesting those are the areas that will see the most changes. Some of the changes that can be seen include a lower front fascia, redesigned fog lights, and a clamshell-style hood.

The front also appears a bit taller and more upright. Another noteworthy change are the side mirrors, which are positioned on stalks. As for the headlights, they are sleeker and integrate into the grille, creating a wing-like appearance.

The 2021 Kia Sorento has been officially dubbed MQ4 by Kia automakers and is expected to make its debut in 2020. Some believe it will follow the release of the 2021 Kia Optima, which is also due for a facelift since the current-generation has been out since 2014. The Kia Sorento is currently in its third-generation, which was released in 2016.

There are also talks of new powertrains, which may include a plug-in hybrid variant. This will expand on the engine options, which for the 2019 model includes the 3.3-liter V6 engine and 2.4-liter inline-four engine.

Visit Auto Revolution for an artist’s rendering of the next-generation 2021 Kia Sorento without camouflage. Currently, there are no pics of the interior, so we can only guess what modifications may consist of.

Do you plan on some heavy off-roading? In that case, how about the 2020 Kia Telluride? The family SUV was the main topic in a Popular Mechanics article that boasts of the vehicle’s off-road chops. The reviewer praised the SUV after successfully testing it in the trails of Uwharrie National Forest in North Carolina.

Another good choice for summer off-roading is the 2019 Kia Sorento. During test trials, the SUV successfully navigated the rough and tumble terrains of Hell’s Revenge Trail in Moab, UT. Furthermore, Consumer Reports listed the Kia Sorento as the best midsize SUV in its list of Best Vehicle Choices for a Family Road Trip.

That’s not all; in its article, The Best Cars for Your Summer Road Trip, Digital Trends listed the 2019 Kia Optima as the top vehicle in its best fuel economy category. Expenses do tend to go up in the summer, so having a car known for fuel economy is a nice way to balance the budget.

The 2020 Kia Telluride is now available at Sansone Kia and is among the first of the 2020 models to be released in the North American market. Since its release, the SUV is dominating the news in automotive sites. This is especially the case with longstanding auto site cars.com.

The Kia Telluride made the most headlines for the site in early June, being the main topic for two of the top 10 stories of the week. One story was an overview of the family SUV, which came in at number one. The other was an overview of how well the SUV accommodates a baby seat. That story came in at number five. With two top placements, one of which was number one, the Kia Telluride beats out other 2020 family SUVs.

In the site’s aforementioned overview post, reviewer Jennifer Geiger praised the SUV for its strong powertrain. It is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Other areas that were given high marks include the vehicle’s comfortable ride, upscale materials, handling, and user-friendly multimedia system. Another worthy mention is the generous cargo space with 21-cubic feet of storage room.

As far as the infotainment system goes, a new Driver Talk feature enables the driver to mute the radio and project his/her voice via rear seat microphone. Similarly, there is a Quiet Mode that mutes all but the front speakers to allow passengers to rest while the driver enjoys the music.

According to a report from NBC, roughly 60% of motorists don’t know how and have never changed a flat tire. Changing a flat tire and putting on the spare is an essential skill especially as summer approaches. After all, this is the season of tire blowouts. Don’t worry if you never had to change a flat tire; we will outline all the essential steps right here.

First, pull over in a safe area and place triangle reflectors about 200 feet in both directions of the vehicle. Your car should also have the following in the trunk: a jack, lug wrench, and a spare tire. Be sure you know where these items are located.

The first step is to remove the hubcap. Use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts. If the bolts won’t budge, place both feet on the wrench. Your whole bodyweight is enough to loosen even the most stubborn bolts.

Next, position the jack near the bottom car frame close to the flat tire. Turn the hand crank until the jack raises the flat tire. Pull out the tire; if it won’t budge, usually due to corrosion, then lower the car and drive a few feet back and forth. This should loosen the tire.

Finally, put on the spare and apply the steps in reverse. Lower the jack and place the lug nuts back on. Your car is now good to go for commute to an auto service station.

Keep in mind that a spare tire is only intended for temporary use. After changing a flat tire, drive to Sansone Kia. See our Kia parts center near Woodbridge, NJ for OEM tires for all Kia models, including the 2019 Kia Niro and others.

Members also benefit from a 10% discount on all OEM parts replacement at our dealership.

As a final fun food for thought, did you know that Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day? The idea was construed in 1868 to commemorate fallen soldiers in the Civil War. During the first few Memorial Days, volunteers would lay flowers in military cemeteries. After World War I, though, it evolved to honor fallen soldiers in all wars.

If you’re embarking on a family trip this Memorial Day, make Sansone Kia one of your pit stops. Many visitors find talking to a dealer enlightening and helps immensely with their buying decisions and the financing aspects.
