If you’ve been on the road for some time, you know that routine maintenance is the key to a long, pleasant life with your Kia SUV or car. At Sansone Kia, our expertly staffed service center is here to provide you and your car with top-notch care, high-quality parts, and thorough repairs. Visit us today at 90-100 US Highway 1 North in Avenel, NJ.

At our NJ Kia dealership, we offer an array of services to keep your vehicle in excellent shape for years to come. One of the most important maintenance tasks is battery service. In order for your 2019 Kia Optima to start, it requires electrical energy from your car battery. If your car is having trouble starting, is older, or if your battery appears to be bulging, you likely need to replace it. Our certified technicians and parts department are here to help by using strictly original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts, made specifically for your make and model. Another task you must stay on top of is oil changes. Your vehicle has thousands of parts working together to keep it moving. These parts are constantly colliding, and without fresh oil, start causing friction. Thus, your engine could overheat and die. It is recommended that you come in for oil changes every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

We offer many other services for your car in our Kia service center, including tires, brakes, fluid checks, alignments, and even state inspections. Be sure to browse our website for parts and service specials to save on your next maintenance task. If you find that we don’t have a part that you need installed, we will be glad to order it.

Anything can happen when you’re on the open road. At Sansone Kia, we want our customers to be fully prepared for road hazards that may throw a wrench in their day. In addition to selling new Kia models, providing service, and having a fully stocked parts department, we are excited to be your resource for anything driving-related. That’s why our team has put together some tips and tricks to navigating the unexpected.

  • Weather conditions. As soon as it begins to rain, slow your 2019 Kia Optima down and give yourself some space from the vehicle ahead. If you find that you begin to hydroplane, remove your foot off the gas completely and slow down until you regain control. The protocol is similar for snow. If you hit black ice, which is ice that blends in with the color of the road and goes unnoticed, suspend acceleration, slow down, and do not brake. Stay in the right lane when experiencing weather-related challenges.
  • Flat tires. You’ll likely know when you have a flat tire by the car thumping and change in steering. They happen all the time, oftentimes due to sharp objects on the road. Stay calm, put your emergency flashers on, remove your foot from the gas, and navigate slowly to a spot without traffic. Once you’re safe, call for help, unless you feel completely confident changing the tire yourself.
  • Collisions. If you find yourself in an unfortunate situation, like a car crash, the very first thing you need to do is ensure that you are ok. Next, move your vehicle away from traffic and go check on everyone else involved in the crash. Call 9-1-1- then begin collecting contact and insurance information with the other car, as well as any witness contact information.

We are always here to answer any questions that you may have regarding safe driving. Visit our New Jersey Kia dealership in Avenel today!

The dog days of summer are here, and at Sansone Kia, we want to share some tips on how to keep your car canine safe! Come check out the recently redesigned 2019 Kia Sorento, it’s perfect for the whole pack!

As with humans, the first thing to consider when transporting your dog is a proper safety harnesses. The ideal option is a well-fitted seat belt attached firmly to the back seat of the vehicle. If this is not an option, placing their crate in the back seat with a blanket and toy for comfort is a viable alternative.

Let’s leave the term hot dog reserved for food and ensure our pups have a well-ventilated space to calmly enjoy the summer ride. Under no circumstance should you leave your dog inside the vehicle unattended during the summer months; this is putting the pet’s life directly at risk. According to some six-time winning Super Bowl champion quarterbacks, staying hydrated can prevent sun burn. While the science is still out on Father Tom’s claims, we do know on long summer journeys your dog will need their own water supply. Be sure to pack their own bowl and additional water for the parched pup to slurp down once the car is at a stop.

Vet visits are universally despised by all dogs, and our ruse to mask the destination is almost immediately blown by the canine’s clairvoyance. But if your pet is on the older side, it is best to take a quick trip to your vet and make sure the old dog is still healthy enough for travel.

Dogs force us to slow down our everyday lives, take a stroll, and relax from the fast-paced world. This is no different on a road trip; human’s best friend requires more stops than their chauffeurs. Be sure to pause every hour or two and allow your dog time to stretch their legs and use the restroom.

If you are out on the open road, answering the call to the wild this summer, stop by Sansone Kia for some cool water for you and your co-pilot!

These are the months many of us welcome the sun-kissed rose hue on our skin, but did you know it is also the most likely time to leave you fuming red with road rage? The increased summer getaway travel along with the skyrocketing mercury can cause tempers to quickly flare. Here at Sansone Kia, we want to give you some tips on how to make sure your new Kia Sportage is equipped with both climate control and self-control.

First step is to recognize your rising anger. Tune out your screaming kids or howling hound and turn down that thumping song of summer to be present. The most noticeable sign of road rage is often physical; muscle tension, one digit gestures, and strong tone or use of language are all good indicators of preliminary road rage.

Second step is to calm down. If you recognize some signs of increasing anger, take the time to pull over to the shoulder when safe, take a few long deep breaths, and collect your thoughts. Throw on some calming jams, pet your dog, or ask your children a silly question to get back into the right headspace. Once you feel your internal rage thermometer drop well below the outside temperature, safely return to the road.

Step three is to drive defensively moving forward. If you are faced with a malicious motorist, it’s best to let the beast pass and be far away from you. Be sure to keep an eye on the chafed chauffer and alert to any sudden and erratic decisions they may make so you may react safely and accordingly.

Step four is to resist retaliation. This can be the hardest step especially when an aggressive red sports car cuts you off or huge pickup tailgates inches behind you. Every mammalian instinct in your body is screaming to lay on the horn or slam on the brakes, but you need to cage the animal and politely defuse the situation. Retaliation will not help you and only aggravate the other driver—take the high road home
